encryptWithSystemKey

String encryptWithSystemKey(String message)

Encrypt a message using the system-wide encryption key.

Parameters:

message - the message to encrypt; may be null

Returns:

the encrypted message, or null if the input message was null

decryptWithSystemKey

String decryptWithSystemKey(String encryptedMessage)

Decrypt a message using the system-wide encryption key.

Parameters:

encryptedMessage - the message to decrypt; may be null

Returns:

the decrypted message, or null if the input message was null

digest

String digest(String message)

Compute a strong digest (one-way hash) of a message.

Parameters:

message - the message to digest; may be null

Returns:

the digest of the message, or null if the input message was null

validateDigest

boolean validateDigest(String message,
                     String digest)

Check that a given message does match a previously computed digest.

Parameters:

message - the message to validate; may be null

digest - a previously computed digest; may be null

Returns:

true if the message is not null and matches the digest, false otherwise
